Personal Reading Preferences
I love everything from cozy romance and domestic thrillers to spicy fantasy and the occasional dark romance. I also enjoy a well-written hockey romance and I’m shamelessly familiar with the wide range of tropes in romance novels.
As a woman with late-diagnosed ADHD, I love to read novels with ADHD/neurodiverse representation. Stories that address the raw reality of mental health with respect and humour are also important to me.
In general, I look for stories that boost the voices of LGBTQIA2S+ and other historically marginalized and underrepresented groups. Everybody deserves to see themselves in the stories they read.
Areas of Expertise:
Children’s Books, YA, New Adult: As a mom of five children (ages 4 to 13) and a former avid reader of the YA genre, I’ve read countless children’s books and will happily help you polish up a manuscript for children or teens.
Fiction: This is where my thirty plus years of voracious reading come in handy. If there is a genre you’re writing, I’ve probably read it at some point. I love a good story, whether it’s set in the past, present, or future. While my preference these days is for spicier romances, I was raised on clean, Christian fiction and can help with that too.
Non-fiction (Creative or otherwise): I’ll gladly help you work through the quirks of your memoir, biography, research paper, or collection of poetry.
